Last week we saw how you could use YouTube No Internet with YouTube Go, an official Google application for countries with unstable Internet connections. Through YouTube Go – once connected to our account – we will have access to the most recent videos of our subscriptions and recommendations, the possibility of searching for videos, and downloading them in different types of quality, depending on how much space we want to dedicate to downloading.
It's a great way to load your video with YouTube content in the mornings before going to work, for example, to enjoy on the go without consuming our data plan.
But hey, the latest update to YouTube Go finally it brings something that was extracted from the official application: the possibility of doing a double tap – touching the screen twice – at either end to go forward or backward 10 seconds. It is an excellent way to fast forward videos (and beware, they can also do it on the PC, with the keyboard) and now it is finally on YouTube Go.
An additional, but slight, change is that Previews do not auto-play now. In the previous version, when we clicked on a video, it would start showing us continuous thumbnails of the video. Now only one static image (thumbnail) is shown, which will only start to show the rest when we click Preview. For an app whose goal is to save data, it makes more sense to follow this approach.
YouTube Go 1.01 has not yet started to be deployed for everyone, but we can always trust APKMirror!
