Galaxy Note 8: A more squared Galaxy S8, with dual cameras, and an S-Pen

Evan Blass, the popular @evleaks, has just revealed the latest leak. In this opportunity, we have here the Galaxy Note 8, which would bring extremely interesting functions.

Update, the Galaxy Note 8 is now official!

Apparently, despite the catastrophe that was the launch of the Note 7, Samsung retain the name of Note – as we conjectured in this special – but beyond this, what interests us are the clear differences with the S8 and S8 +. Mainly, the dual camera

Finally, a dual camera on a Samsung computer with the Galaxy Note 8

The S8 still has one of the best cameras on the market. It is the phone I use when I go out at night, as no other smartphone can deal with the dark, like the S8. However, the lack of a second lens takes away some versatility, some fun for the camera, so on any other occasion, I prefer to use one of the other alternatives on the market, such as the iPhone 7 Plus, the Huawei Mate 9 , or the LG G6; they all offer more than the S8.

This is about to end, however, because the Note 8 will bring a dual camera, with a secondary lens with 3X zoom. The 2X lens of the iPhone 7 Plus has turned out to be an excellent tool, giving us spectacular portrait photos. Samsung would be opting for a similar system except that, instead of having a 2X zoom, this time we would be facing a lens equivalent to 3X, perhaps putting it in the range of 70-85mm (that of the iPhone, is equivalent to a 56mm lens) .

This is definitely the most exciting thing about the phone.

The fingerprint sensor of the Galaxy Note 8 is still in an awkward place.

Something that has not changed compared to the S8, although we would have liked it enormously, is the location of the fingerprint sensor, which is still next to the cameras.

In my time with the S8 – I already have it a little over two months – I have become accustomed to the location of the fingerprint sensor. A thin case helps a lot, but honestly, I now depend much more on the face unlock, because it is faster.

It is a pity that the sensor is kept in the same place, and that Samsung has not managed to implement it on the screen, as many expected.

Finally, it remains to mention the S-Pen, which is the main reason why many Note 5 users have not yet updated to other alternatives. Of course we will see it included in the new Note 8; it is, after all, the most resulting feature of the computer.

In terms of technical features, we can expect a phone with functions similar to those of the S8: a Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895, 64 GBs of storage and 4 GBs of RAM. The screen would be 6.3 (slightly larger than that of the S8 +).

A point of concern? The battery. To make room for the S-Pen, the battery may be lower in amperage than the S8 +. On the S8 +, we have a 3,500 mAh battery, while the Note 8 would come with a 3,300m battery, according to recent rumors.

All this we will know the August 23, date on which Note 8 will be revealed.
