Amazon has just updated its Kindle app for iOS that brings us a new light-colored theme. Navigation in the app has also been modified, to make it more intuitive and easy to use.
Many do not know, but it is possible to synchronize books not purchased on Amazon in the app, making it an excellent alternative to read books between multiple devices. I sync downloaded books, for example, and read them on Android, iPhone, my iPad, or the Kindle, syncing my progress across multiple devices.
GoodReads also becomes an integral part of Kindle. GoodReads is a reading community that allows us to mark our reading progress and share it with friends, in addition to being able to receive recommendations according to what we have previously read. This service was purchased by Amazon years ago, so it's good to see how such a strong community is integrated directly into the app. However, this integration appears to be occurring only in the United States at this time, with expansion to other markets planned for the future.
