As announced through Huawei's official Facebook page, the company has started to distribute Android Oreo 8.0 to the P10 and P10 Plus globally.
However, due to the Android update process (Google – Manufacturer – Device – Operator – User), it could take a few weeks or months depending on the country they are in. The good news? That the rollout has already started, so we'll probably see it soon!
Don't you want to wait
One process I followed with the Mate 9, when the updates started taking too long, was to re-brand my phone. In essence, I converted the phone that was considered by Huawei as a Latin American model, to the European version. The hardware is identical on both devices, only Europe receives updates much more often.
Once the phone was re-branded as European, I started getting many more updates on Mate 9! I did this with FunkyHuawei, which has all the necessary instructions to do it with their phones. It is not free, they will need credits (about $ 40), but if they need updates continuously, this is the best solution I have found.
