If you don’t play, you can’t win. If you’re not in, you can’t win, and if you don’t buy lottery tickets, the jackpot just isn’t going to come in. Seminars are the same. When you’re attending business workshops, seminars and networking meetings relevant to your chosen business or profession, you’re showing that you’re serious.
Attending seminars and events presents you with the opportunity to take some time out from your business, to take a step back, allow what you’re listening to, to percolate through and to get a chance to see your business from a totally different perspective.
You see, this is something that people so rarely do, and its one that could have such a massive impact for you and your business. The thing is, you are the person who knows your business best, but frequently we’re just too engrossed in putting out the fires, to see why the fires are getting started in the first place.
Taking time out to reflect, take stock, network with like minded individuals in similar businesses, and learn from speakers from stage really can be priceless.
Its what Steven Covey called, stopping to sharpen the saw, as opposed to proclaiming that you don’t have enough time to sharpen the saw, because you’re too busy slogging your guts out with a blunt instrument.
So if you’re serious about becoming really successful in your chosen business, the question really becomes, can you possibly not afford to attend these events.
